Southern cooking is all about comfort, hospitality, and gathering around the table with food made from the heart. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create a menu inspired by some of the South’s most beloved flavors and traditions.
We’ll start by making creamy, buttery grits and topping them with perfectly seasoned shrimp in a rich, savory pan sauce. Alongside the main course, you’ll prepare tender collard greens that are cooked low and slow for maximum flavor and comfort.
To finish, we’ll bake a warm apple pecan crumble featuring sweet apples, toasted pecans, warm spices, and a buttery crumble topping that’s perfect for sharing.
Whether you’re new to Southern cooking or looking to add a few comforting classics to your repertoire, you’ll leave with practical techniques, confidence in the kitchen, and recipes you’ll want to make again and again.

• You will work with other students in groups of 2, sharing workstations and equipment.
• Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise posted
• Beer, wine and crafted cocktails are available for purchase only. NO BYOB.
• Classes are limited to 18 students.
• You will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class.
